Integration, Media & Devices
- How do I know the status of my devices and systems?
Your Superna solution is bidirectional - you can get the status of any device or system that supports two-way communication, (ex. serial, USB and IP enabled devices). The system also keeps a record of the last command sent to infrared devices, this allows you to know what the last operation that was performed on a unidirectional device. - How many devices can I use in my Superna installation?
There is no limit to the number of devices or systems that can be connected to Superna. Our networking architecture allows you to add as many nodes as you would like, unlike the traditional home automation "server-like" architecture. - Can my non-UPnP products interoperate with UPnP devices?
Yes. Superna provides a "UPnP stack" for legacy products that are to connected within a Superna solution. In this way, legacy products become UPnP compatible. - Where can I find UPnP devices?
UPnP certified vendors are listed on the UPnP forum on www.upnp.org. The Forum consists of more than 800 vendors, including industry leaders in consumer electronics, computing, home automation, home security, appliances, computer networking, and mobile products.
Vendors may support UPnP on some or all their devices without being a part of the forum.
Please contact the vendor in question directly for further information and verification of their compatibility. - What is UPnP?
Short for Universal Plug and Play, it is a networking standard that provides compatibility among networking equipment, software and peripherals of the 800+ vendors that are part of the Universal Plug and Play Forum.
UPnP works with wired or wireless networks and can be supported on any operating system. UPnP boasts device-driver independence and zero-configuration networking. - Which Audio and Video content formats are supported?
