  1. What type of devices or systems can I connect to the Superna network?
    If you can control it - we will support it. Superna can control devices and systems which are operated through TCP/IP, Infrared, Serial protocols, dry contact sensor devices, UPnP, Z-Wave and Instaeon products.
  2. I am already using some home control/automation equipment. Can I connect it to Superna?
    The Superna solution can integrate with all existing solutions that provide the ability to be controlled by 3rd party devices using available industry standards.
  3. What type of Home automation scenarios can be triggered using Superna?
    The number of automation scenarios that can be triggered is virtually limitless. Superna supports both event triggering and time scheduling, where the scheduling can be a relative schedule such as "half an hour before sunset" or every first Monday in the month at 7AM. The scenarios may be personal security, comfort or energy and environment management tasks. They can be scenarios such as lightening, heating or even watering the lawn or more complex scenarios including media streaming and variable information. The only limitation to the type of scenarios is the needs and imagination of the end user.

    The Superna solution is based on an intuitive, user friendly interface, with wizards and graphic representations that make the installation and configuration of a Superna solution one of the least complicated and time-consuming of the solutions available in the market today.

    The Superna Digital Home is a 3 in 1 solution providing an affordable answer for Home Control, Home Automation and Digital Media Distribution. The Superna Digital Home has been created with the integrator and end-user in mind. It is a flexible and scalable solution which is easy to install and maintain. No coding knowledge is required as no coding is performed in the installation. The system has a fully customizable user interface and set-up providing ultimate flexibility without complex programming.
  6. How do I know the status of my devices and systems?
    Your Superna solution is bidirectional - you can get the status of any device or system that supports two-way communication, (ex. serial, USB and IP enabled devices). The system also keeps a record of the last command sent to infrared devices, this allows you to know what the last operation that was performed on a unidirectional device.
  7. How many devices can I use in my Superna installation?
    There is no limit to the number of devices or systems that can be connected to Superna. Our networking architecture allows you to add as many nodes as you would like, unlike the traditional home automation "server-like" architecture.
  8. What type of interfaces does Superna support?
    There are plenty of ways to interface with Superna: 1. The Superna Touch Panels. 2. You can also turn any PC, PDA or Media Center PC into an interface by installing Superna's ControlWare™ software. 3. Superna's ControlBoxes provide you an OSD (On-Screen Display), turning your TV into an interface device.
  9. Can I use my own written applications with Superna?
    Yes. Superna's platform is open for developers to add their own applications and load them on to Superna's platform. For more information, please refer to the developers section of our website.
  10. Do I need to invest in a full solution from day one?
    No. The Superna platform is based on standard networking architecture, allowing you to start with a single application or zone and then expand over time to more applications or other zones in your home.
